Pathanamthitta Diocese MCYM Inaugurates New Working Year with Oath-Taking Ceremony

Pathanamthitta: The Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM) of the Pathanamthitta Diocese has officially begun its working year for 2024-2025 with an oath-taking ceremony. Held on January 7, 2024, at the Aramana Chapel in Pathanamthitta, the event was presided over by Mon. Varghese Mathew Kalayil Vadakkethil, the Chief Vicar General of the Pathanamthitta Diocese. Members of the committee took their oath of office and assumed their responsibilities in his presence.

The annual senate meeting of the MCYM Pathanamthitta Ecclesiastical District was previously held on December 17, 2023, at the Cheekanal St. Peter’s Malankara Catholic Church. The meeting, inaugurated by Unit Director Fr. Joycy Puthupparambil, featured presentations from 10 units. The event included a presentation of the district report, distribution of trophies to the winners of the 2023 Thoolika and Yuvotsavam competitions, and awards to youths who excelled in various fields during the year. The newly elected office bearers for the year 2024-2025 were also selected during this meeting.

The Cheekanal Unit Director Fr. Joysy Puthupparambil, along with the unit president, secretary, and other office bearers, meticulously arranged the venue for the senate meeting. The District Director Fr. Charles Meledath, Sister Animator Sr. Nobel SIC, President Kristin Shibu, Secretary Bintu Joseph, and other office bearers were present at the event, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of the youth.

The ceremony marked a significant transition for the MCYM Pathanamthitta Ecclesiastical District. The 2023-2024 working year witnessed strong leadership, and heartfelt gratitude was expressed to all committee members for their dedicated service. As the new office bearers step into their roles for the 2024-2025 working year, they are welcomed with high hopes and expectations.
