Pastoral Course 2023 for Deacons of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church

The Pastoral Course 2023 for Deacons of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church was held at the Pattom Catholicate Centre, the headquarters of the church, from November 19 to 23, 2023. The head and father of the church, Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, inaugurated the pastoral course and spoke.

The Metropolitan of the Marthoma Diocese, His Grace Vincent Mar Paul, the curia metropolitan of the church, His Grace Antony Mar Silvanos, Monsignor Varkey Attuppuram, the cor-episcopos, and other dignitaries led classes on a variety of topics related to pastoral care, including the following:

• Pastoral counseling
• Social work
• Youth ministry
• Ecumenism

The course also included field trips to various parishes and institutions, where the deacons had the opportunity to observe pastoral care in action.

At the conclusion of the course, the deacons received certificates of completion.
