In a vital community endeavour, the Niranam Central, St. Joseph Malankara Catholic Church (MCYM) joined forces with the Pushpagiri Medical College to inaugurate a complimentary medical camp, marking a significant stride in healthcare provision by the Malankara Syrian Catholic Church.
The camp’s opening was gracefully conducted by Advocate Viji Ninan, President of Pulikeezhu Block Panchayat, highlighting the critical importance of such health initiatives in the Upper Kuttanad region, particularly for those grappling with life-threatening illnesses like cancer.
Advocate Viji Ninan remarked on the timely significance of the camp, considering the escalating cases of serious diseases within the local population of Niranam. The event, according to him, stands as a boon to the people, delivering essential health services directly to the doorstep of those in need.
Presided over by the parish vicar, Fr. Joseph Karippayil, the gathering saw noteworthy contributions from Benny Skaria, Trustee, as well as Pulikeezhu Block Panchayat member Aneesh MB. Local panchayat members Joli Eappen, Joli George, and Ebi Mathew also delivered speeches, each underscoring the camp’s role in reinforcing the ecclesiastical district’s commitment to both spiritual well-being and social welfare.
The health camp represents the Church’s resolve to extend its mission beyond spiritual guidance, seeking to address the holistic needs of its community. This event showcases the Syro Malankara Catholic Church’s embodiment of compassion and service, aligning with its profound dedication to nurturing the flock in every aspect of life.
