MCYM Kadambanad Ecclesiastical District Inaugurates the 2024-25 Activity Year with Grandeur

Kadambanad, February 4, 2024: The Malankara Catholic Youth Movement (MCYM) of the Kadambanad Ecclesiastical District officially commenced its activities for the year 2024-25 with a ceremonial inauguration held at the St. Thomas Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, Thuvayoor East, marking the beginning of a year filled with spiritual enrichment and community service.

The event was initiated by Rev. Sister Aneesh SCV, the district animator of MCYM Kadambanad, who hoisted the MCYM flag, setting the stage for a series of spiritually uplifting and motivational sessions. Rev. Fr. Anoop Mayilett OFM Cap led an engaging class titled ‘Assisiyile Francisum Njanum’ (Francis of Assisi and I), drawing lessons from the life of St. Francis of Assisi and its relevance to contemporary youth.

The meeting witnessed significant contributions from key figures including Mr. Ebin Sanjeev, the district president of MCYM Kadambanad, who chaired the session. Ms. Athulya Anna Ponnochan, the district secretary, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, while Rev. Fr. George Kottappuram, the district director, delivered an insightful introductory message. The state president of KCYM, Mr. Sharon K Regi, inaugurated the meeting with an inspiring speech, highlighting the importance of youth involvement in the church’s mission.

Rev. Fr. Cheriyan Mayikkal, the ecclesiastical district vicar, conveyed his blessings and good wishes for the successful execution of the year’s plans. The theme for the 2024 operational year, “REX SUM EGO,” was officially launched by Mr. Sharon K Regi, handing over the theme to the district vicar and director, signifying the leadership and responsibility carried by the youth in manifesting the kingdom of God on Earth.

The treasurer of MCYM Kadambanad Ecclesiastical District, Mr. Alexander, offered a vote of thanks, acknowledging everyone’s contributions towards the successful inauguration of the activity year. The meeting concluded with a prayer, embodying the collective aspirations and dedication of the youth towards achieving their spiritual and community-oriented goals for the year ahead.
