Thiruvananthapuram – The Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council (KCBC) President, His Eminent Beatitude Cardinal Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, presented a representation to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, outlining various pressing issues affecting the Catholic Church and the broader public in Kerala.
The memorandum included significant concerns such as:
- Implementation and publication of the Justice J. B. Koshy Commission Report.
- Addressing the demands of Dalit Christians.
- Proposed amendments to Kerala’s Forest Laws.
- Resolving disputes related to the Munambam Wakf property claim.
- Tackling challenges faced by coastal communities.
- Alleviating the crisis of rubber farmers and addressing issues concerning paddy procurement.
- The Vizhinjam agitation and its related crisis.
- Approval of appointments in aided schools under the disability reservation framework.
The meeting underscored the critical importance of addressing these concerns for the welfare of various communities in Kerala.
