Bar Etho Kashiro Thomas Pulikkathara Passes Away at 89

Vandanmedu, January 24, 2024: The Thiruvalla Archdiocese mourns the loss of Thomas Pulikkathara, a revered member of the St. Mary’s Malankara Catholic Church in Vandanmedu. He was 89 years old.

Thomas Pulikkathara, who was conferred the “Bar Etho Kashiro” title which means Diligent Son of the Church, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of faith and community service. His life was a testament to the values of the Malankara Catholic Church, and he was a respected figure in his local community.

The funeral rites are scheduled for January 25, 2024 (Thursday), with services organized throughout the day. The schedule is as follows:

• 8:00 AM: First service
• 9:00 AM: Second service
• 2:15 PM: Third service, led by Very Rev. Fr. Sabu Marthoor, Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Thiruvalla
• 3:00 PM: Final service at the St. Mary’s Malankara Catholic Church in Vandanmedu, officiated by His Excellency Thomas Mar Koorilos
