Prof. Dr. Giby Geevarghese Appointed as Member of KCBC Women’s Commission

Prof. Dr. Giby Geevarghese, an esteemed associate professor in psychology at Mar Theophilus Training College and a dedicated member of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, has been appointed to the prestigious Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council (KCBC) Women’s Commission. Fr. Milton Sebastian Kalapurakkal (Alappuzha Diocese) has been appointed as the Secretary of the Media Commission, while Fr. Ditto Koola (Thrissur Archdiocese) assumes the role of Secretary for the Youth Commission, and Fr. Arun Valiyathazhat (Kothamangalam Diocese) has been named the Secretary of the Labor Commission. Additionally, Fr. Antony Lijo Odathakkal (Varapuzha Archdiocese) has been entrusted with the role of General Secretary for KCSL.

Eparchy of USA and Canada Launches “Support Our Future Shepherds” Campaign to Strengthen Vocations

As we prepare to embrace the joy and renewal of Christmas, the Eparchy of St. Mary Queen of Peace has announced an inspiring initiative to strengthen the spiritual leadership of the Church. The newly launched “Support Our Future Shepherds” campaign aims to raise $100,000 annually to support the education and formation of seminarians.

This year, the campaign highlights the needs of two dedicated seminarians, Bro. Christopher Thomas and Bro. George Thomas Kochumalil, as they journey toward priesthood to serve the faithful as future priests of the Eparchy.

Rev. Sr. Eymard SIC Enters Eternal Rest at 82

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rev. Sr. Eymard SIC, a respected member of the Sisters of the imitation of Christ and a devoted servant of the Thiruvananthapuram Province. Sr. Eymard, aged 82, was called to her eternal rest, leaving behind a life dedicated to the service of the Church and her community.

Life of Faith and Service

Hailing from the Thumpamon Pilassery Kizhakkethil family, Sr. Eymard faithfully served the Church through her religious vocation. She was the beloved sister of the late Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier Pilassery OIC, who also served the Church with great devotion.

Funeral Arrangements

The funeral proceedings for Sr. Eymard will be held on Wednesday, 4 December 2024, as follows:

  • 6:00 AM: The mortal remains will be brought to the Provincial House at Nalanchira, Trivandrum.
  • 3:30 PM: Funeral rites will begin, followed by the burial service.
