The Anamnesis is the prayer in which the priest and the people together recall the mystery of Christ's death and resurrection, which is made present in all its saving power.
They also look forward to the Second Coming of Christ, for which this mystery prepares them (cf. 1 Cor. 11:26).
In this sacred moment, the past and the future are brought near, as Christ Himself is present among His people.
